Where I live, fall is less than a month away and I can already taste the pumpkin spice latte’s! I love fall. I love the fashion, the weather, and most importantly I love wearing my collection of handmade goodies. The first fall pattern of the season was inspired by a delightfully squishy skein of yarn I purchased while visiting the Lion Brand Studio in New York City, their 100% baby alpaca yarn. I would love to make that yarn a required material for this pattern, but the truth is, this particular yarn isn’t readily available in stores. So I improvised and came up with another lovely yarn from Lion Brand, Amazing, and let me just say the colorways are, well, amazing. For my hat I chose to use the color “Strawberry Fields”. If you don’t have any Amazing yarn in your stash, no worries! This pattern is perfect for that special skein of yarn you splurged on at the yarn store. This hat requires only 146 yards of yarn, so it is the ultimate one-skein wonder!

The Fall for Me Spiral hat will be a great addition to your fall fashion accessories. Crocheting in the round using the back loops only are the secret to creating the spiral. It’s completely versatile. Wear it as a slouchy or a beanie for much colder weather. And let’s talk about that faux-knit band, yes it is crocheted!
