This is a pattern for a Pop Art - Fall Leaf designed double knit potholder. The double knitting creates a double thick fabric which is good for protecting hands and counters.

Each side is worked stockinette stitch on both sides, so it is reversible with the back side being an inverse of the colors on the front side. It includes my own method for cast-off which creates a solid unified looking edge.

The red yarn I used is Martha Stewart Cotton/Hemp yarn, the other 3 colors were stock Sugar’n Cream colors. For a less ‘Pop-Art’ look, use softer colors. There is a coloring chart included with the pattern to help you design your potholder.

The pattern pdf includes:
• Photo of finished item (front and back)
• Supply list
• Abbreviations
• Pictures of Color options (Primarily based on Sugar N Cream Yarns)
• Written instruction
• 2 Color Charts - One for each side (while knitting even & odd rows)
• 2 Uncolored charts of the rooster design to test out your own color combinations with color pencils or to ‘print screen’ and paste into Microsoft paint to pour color into the squares.

If knitting a 4 color design like shown, the yarn requirement for each color is 27 - 30 yards. Add more yardage if you double knit on the loose side.

It could be a good way to use up some yarn scrapes
