“Falling Leaves”

This cowl has been created with aran weight yarn for the main body so that it is warm and snuggly and the leaves are created with dk weight yarn.

It is knitted flat and seamed at the back with the neck edge turned over to create the layers of leaves.

I had initially thought this design would be my Christmas release for this year, but on creating it I was excited by the thought of seeing the leaves in pretty autumn colours or bold multi colours for a funky look to the cowl.

Therefore, rather than adding red berries to the whole piece I have created the leaf and berries separately so that you can add them to the cowl if you wish for a festive finish to the piece, and you have the option of where to place it.

It’s a pattern suitable for all abilities.

Yarn Requirements…..

Yarn A is 2 x 100g/165m Aran weight in colourway Ash
Yarn B is 1 x 100g/225m DK weight in colourway Chasing The Fern, you will need to divide this skein into two equal sized balls.
Yarn C is 1 x 100g/225m DK weight in colourway Bloody Mary…..you will only need a tiny amount of this to create the red berries if you are wanting to add these, so any small red amount will work.
I used approx. 287m of aran weight and 63m of DK weight
