Fancy Ribbed Cowl

Skills needed are provisional cast on, knit, purl, seaming or grafting/kitchener stitch. Directions for provisional cast on are included in the pattern. Tutorial links for cast on and grafting listed.

Suggested yarn requirements 4 ounces or at least 375 yards of sock or fingering weight yarn. OR 4 ounces more or less at least 175 yards DK, worsted or light bulky handspun yarn.

Needle size:
US #9, 5.50mm, for wrong side rows (handspun US #11)
US #6, 4.00mm, for right side rows (handspun US #9)
Note --
Interchangeable needles, one tip US9, one tip US6, one 24” or 32” cable. Fix
large needle and small needle on same cable to knit.
OR
One each straight needle larger and smaller size.
OR
One each fixed circular needle size US9 and US6.

Gauge not necessary with this pattern. Fabric should be loose like when knitting lace. Sock yarn gauge is 30 sts/ 4” measured on right side, unstretched. Bulky handspun gauge is 24 sts/ 4” unstretched, cast on is 46 sts using I-Cord edge.
