Slipped-stitch bats are in flight! Vampire enthusiasts will enjoy making and wearing this pattern which features bobble bat bodies and a heel turn that is ready to bite! A non-bobble bat body option is also provided for those who like flat bats. The instructions for this toe-up construction are provided in text and chart formats, with a rarely seen text version of colorwork instructions for those who may be new to the technique.

This pattern is written for three widths, and the instructions are provided in text and chart for DPN, Magic Loop, and Two Circular Needle methods. Recommended needle size is US 1.

Kits Include:

  1. One skein of Sock-aholic® II in your choice of color as shown above. (NOTE: If you are interested in a dark grey similar to that shown in the picture, select Graphite Gueuze for your main color. I do not recommend Rockin’ Granny Red as a choice since that is the color of the red stripe.)
  2. Three mini-skeins of yarn for the Fangtastic heel turn (red, black, and white).
  3. A commemorative project stitch marker featuring a cute vampire-themed charm.
  4. The Fangtastic sock pattern by Wendy Gaal.

Sock-aholic® II is dyed by hand at our brewery using a wonderfully soft 4-ply Luxury Sock Yarn made from 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon. Each 100g skein contains approximately 460 yards, and knits at a gauge of 7-9 stitches per inch using size 1-2 needles. This yarn has a smooth and refined appearance, and will help you create elegant fingering weight projects.

Washing Instructions: Hand washing in cool water is recommended to prolong the life of any hand-knit or hand-crocheted item. This yarn may also be gently machine washed in cool water. Roll in a towel to remove excess water (do not twist or wring), and lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight.
