Farbenfroh is German and means colorful, literally color happy. It is the perfect shawl for heavily variegated sock yarn that is just too gorgeous for your feet. It is knit from the top down using any amount of yarn you would like, increasing on every other row to create its crescent shape. The wings are knit in garter stitch with a drop stitch pattern insert that really shows off the colors. The shape of this shawl allows it to drape nicely on your shoulders and stay there.
