Local culture often influences architecture, as seen in the textured knit/purl pattern on these fingerless mitts. It references the pueblo influence seen in the architecture in Phoenix, Arizona, where I spent my high school years. Remembering how light and shadow play on adobe walls, these gently patterned mittens were born.

In milder climates where the mornings are cool but not freezing, these
mitts make daybreak a bit cozier. Solid yarns work best for this project because the textured pattern is quite subtle.
