This pattern uses 4 colors of sport weight yarn, but only two colors per row. These form traditional repeating patterns common to the Faroe Islands. The pattern is knit in the round and uses steeks for the front and sleeve openings.

The yardage requirements for the sport weight yarn are as follows: in the 10% gray (background color), 700, 850, and 1000 yards; in the 20% gray, 325, 390, and 460 yards; in the 60% gray, 400, 480, 560 yards; and in the brown 165, 200, 230 yards. Small amounts of fingering and lace weight yarns are used in the finishing. Seven buttons are also needed.

Kits are available from Blackberry Ridge Woolen Mill
