I love the look of cables but not so much the work of cables. I found this pretty braid, from the Barbara Walker book - A
Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns, that has the beauty of cables without having to use a cable needle. I put the braids
together with some ribbing and came up with this sock pattern. I hope you enjoy knitting it!
