This beret has a slightly lacy faux-cable pattern. It is knitted in the round (originally on 5 double pointed needles).

This is meant to be a loose-fitting hat, so gauge isn’t crucial. The finished size can be modified by using slightly larger or smaller needles than suggested. This pattern should work well with any worsted-weight yarn - and would probably translate well to bulky yarn for a warmer hat, or doubleknit weight yarn for a looser and more lacy hat.

The yardage given is approximate.

This is the first complete knitting pattern I’ve written. Any feedback would be welcome!
