A lovely lightweight cardigan for a breezy spring day, featuring detailed trim at the neck band and side seams, and subtle texture in the body.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Bust - 32½ (34½, 36½, 39, 41, 43)(44, 46, 48½, 50½, 53)“, based on twice finished back measurement.
Intended to be worn with 0-2” of ease.
Length - 24¼ (24¾, 24¾, 25¼, 25¼, 25¾)(25¾, 26¼, 26¼, 26¾, 26¾)”.

YARN: 1420 (1515, 1560, 1665, 1750, 1860)(1905, 2010, 2080, 2180, 2250) yds sportweight wool.
Shown in Quince & Co. “Chickadee” (100% wool; 181 yds/50 g) - Delft.

NEEDLES: U.S. size 3 (3.25mm) straight or circular needles.
U.S. size 4 (3.5mm) 32” (80cm) or 40” (100cm) circular needle.
U.S. size 5 (3.75mm) 32” (80cm) or 40” (100cm)circular needle.
2nd set of U.S. size 4 (3.5mm) straight or circular needles.
Circular needles are used to accommodate the large number of stitches required for the neck band - shorter circulars or straight needles may be used for the body if desired.
Adjust needle size as needed to obtain correct gauge.

OTHER: Stitch holders, removable markers, cable needle, tapestry needle.

GAUGE: 25 sts/37 rows = 4” in stockinette, using size 4 (3.5mm) needles, blocked.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate. Techniques include long tail cast on, 3-needle bind off, short row shoulder shaping, m1 increases, simple cables, and picking up stitches.

CONSTRUCTION: Fronts and back are knit separately from the bottom up, beginning with a knit-in hem. Stitches are picked up for the edge bands at the hem and the fronts and back are then completed. Shoulders are joined with 3-needle bind off and stitches are picked up for the neck band. Sleeves are knit flat, with knit-in hems, and sewn into the armholes. The sides and underarms are seamed.
