Feathermoss combines two yarns in similar hues but much different weights and gauges - the sections of garter stitch in a luxurious bulky yarn lend some heft and stability to the feather lace sections made using a DK weight yarn. This is an interesting and challenging project to knit since it is knit lengthwise rather than across the width. The fringe is made as you knit. Feathermoss would function well as a shawl or stole in addition to working as an extra wide scarf.

The gauge listed above is for the DK weight yarn; the gauge of bulky weight yarn in stockinette is:
12sts and 20 rows = 4” (10cm)

You will need 220 yards of bulky weight yarn to complete this or two full skeins of Baby Alpaca Grande, and approximately 560 yards of a DK weight yarn.

Finished dimensions are 17” wide and 68” long, excluding fringe - with fringe, Feathermoss is 88” long.
