It’s February, so why not make up a thick, cozy hat in red and white for your sweetheart? The February Hat is the next installment in the 2016 Sunshine Charlotte Hat CAL, and it features my new favorite stitch: the berry stitch! I’ve included instructions on completing said stitch in the pattern, so no worries if you’ve never done it before.

The hat itself is worked in the round from the bottom up and is sewn shut at the top. The pompom is optional but really makes the hat complete, in my humble opinion.

I know people like different styles of hats, so I’ve made this pattern versatile. I’ve included sizing information for Adult sizes Small through X-Large, AND I’ve written instructions to create 3 different styles of hat: a beanie, a short slouchy, and a long slouchy hat. I personally prefer the beanie in this pattern, but to each their own. I’m looking forward to seeing your different creations!

It’s not too late to join the CAL fun and purchase the 2016 Sunshine Charlotte Hat CAL package. You get a new hat pattern on the 15th of every month, and at the end of the year, we’re donating all of our projects through a scarf and hat “mugging”. While you’re browsing my pattern store, also look for the matching February Scarf, the January Hat, and the 2016 Sunshine Charlotte Scarf CAL!
