This is the first monthly installment in the Sunshine Charlotte Scarf CAL 2016. These scarves are meant to be crocheted through the year and then donated at the end of November by tying them around trees and posts in areas where needy people might have access to them. I am starting this project as a pre-Christmas way to honor my baby girl, who lost her fight to cancer in July 2015. Crocheting helps with the grief, and I love to use the finished items to give to others.

This scarf is perfect for beginners who are looking to practice their stitches and learn a couple of new ones. Each row is a different color and stitch, making this scarf look more difficult to create than it actually is. Best of all, you don’t have to weave in any ends! They become part of the fringe at the end of the project.

If you want to be a part of the Crochet Along for 2016 and donate your monthly scarves in November, go to my designer page and look for my CAL purchase option!
