About this pattern: A stretchy, comfy, snug, and well-fitting and fairly easy (but a bit fidgety) to make balaclava with a heart-shaped cut-out face opening that can be made in any size from
newborn to adult XL. This balaclava hat is knit in the round.
You will need: worsted yarn (up to 100 grams for the smallest size, up to 190 grams for the largest size), knitting needles to obtain the gauge (for knitting in the round), two stitch markers, a darning needle, knitting needles 1mm (two sizes) smaller than the
gauge needles (circular), small amount of worsted yarn for the face opening, two locking stitch markers.

Gauge: 19 sts in 4 in / 10cm in stockinette stitch. Row gauge is not important for this pattern.

IMPORTANT: please do not leave babies unattended wearing this garment!

One more thing about this pattern: this is a lengthy file, and it contains many photos.
If possible, please do not print it – use an e-reader, Kindle, iPad, tablet, phone, or a computer instead. This will save lots of paper and lots of ink!
The pattern is written in sections in the order they are needed to knit the balaclava step by step. Each section has measurements / stitch count / instructions for all sizes.
There is the next section after the instructions for the largest size. Each section has information about all sizes.
