Dare to be Different! And Dare to Be Warm. If you want to choose one of the warmest felted hats, this is it. It covers your head and your ears. The front flap adds another layer to keep you warm while being decorative. AND the back flap can be worn out or inside your coat to keep your neck warm. ALSO, you can use faux fur to add some design elements. The front and back flaps and ear flaps may be wool or a combination of wool and faux fur. Long ties are functional and decorative. You can leave them straight or tie knots in them. And there are two shape choices for the front flap. After knitting and felting, embellish your hat with embroidery, buttons, and such.

Comprehensive information on felting and recommendations for yarns are included. Please read through this pattern to become familiar with the pattern, types of yarn, and the felting process. The Notes and Felting Sections have information that is important to successfully knitting and felting hats.
