Intermediate: Due to the more complicated putting together part. A really adventurous beginner should have no trouble, there are only basic crochet stitches and one ‘fancy’ stitch (Spike) which is defined in the pattern.

Gauge-after round two in the pattern it will be 1.25” in diameter (you may need to adjust your hook size to a larger hook).

This is a fun little coin purse that folds into itself and has a little button closure. I always like coin purses, but never want to buy all those fancy schmancy thingamabobbers you need to close ‘em up! This construction allows you to spill your coins into the lid and see what coins you have without having to take them all the way out-then with a little squeeze and a tilt they all fall back into the purse and you can close it back up-and all you need besides the yarn is a button!

This is a great gift for stocking stuffers, or for a money holder when giving money as a gift!

If you have never felted anything before this is a GREAT starter project, it is very fun to watch the wool (be sure to use 100% wool that is NOT superwash) change!

There is a video listed in the pattern to assist you in figuring out how to put the two pieces together. That was the trickiest part of this clever design.

Pre-felting diameter 3.75” post-felting diameter 3.25” after felting, the coin opening is about 1.75” so it should fit most standard coins-larger coins may not slide in and out as easily, but they should still fit with a little assistance. If you plan on having larger coins in your coin purse, you may choose to not felt as vigorously so it doesn’t shrink as much.
