I’ve had a few requests for this in the year since I originally made them, and I’m finally getting around to putting it out there. I included a diagram of the hilt, but it’s really just horizontal striping followed by vertical striping followed by more horizontal striping.

Without a hard core (such as a wooden dowel), this pattern yields a very soft, bendy toy (think foam pool noodle). Add a dowel and stuff around it for a more stiff “weapon,” though of course I take no responsibility for dueling injuries.

A light saber uses three balls of Wool of the Andes (two for the hilt and one for the blade). There will, however, be enough of the hilt colors left to make several light sabers.

Please let me know if you come across any errors; I wrote it up from memory, a few very sketchy notes, and the photographs.
