This knitting pattern is an original design, shown here in Paton’s Classic Wool and Paton’s Rustic Wool.

The mittens are knit back and forth and seamed before felting. It is knit on straight needles as I used this pattern for my Learn To Knit class. The felting evened out a lot of the usuals “ooopsys” that occur when one begins knitting. It also meant that knit and purl stitches could be used.

This pattern is easily adapted to be knit in the round on a 16” (40.50cm) circular needle and DPN.

To Fit Hand Circumference:

XS - 6 1/2” (16.50cm)
