This Dragonpine Designs pattern was designed by Janet Filipchuk.

This pattern is written for the LK150 knitting machine (mid-gauge 6.5mm knitting machine). The instructions have been written specifically to accommodate the felting (or shrinking) process. As you are knitting the mittens, they will appear very large until they are felted. Pattern includes extensive written instructions (28 pages including high-resolution photographs of both cuff options). Full row counts and carriage positions for entire mitten pattern are given in an easy to follow table for ease of keeping track of progress. Full written instructions are given for all sizes. Detailed felting instructions by washing machine or by hand are provided.

Cuff Options:

  • Traditional Knit 2 Purl 2 Ribbing
  • Fisherman Rib with I-Cord Edging - A unique cuff treatment that utilizes an I-Cord used horizontally as the base. Stitches are then picked up off the side of the I-Cord and the Fisherman or “Shaker” Rib is knit up from there. This involves a different twist on the normal re-latching technique and creates the look of this popular hand knit rib stitch. Note: The cuffs of these mittens are not felted.

Recommended Tension Dial Setting: 4

Other Materials Required:

  • Waste Yarn
  • Ravel Cord
