You can easily adjust the shape by including more stitches (the purse shown was a 24 st cast on), or by knitting more length (the purse shown was about 42 cm long before folding into a purse). You need to allow for shrinkage during the felting process. The amount of shrinkage will depend on the yarn used and how much felting takes place.
