The old school satchel has become a fashion item and what better way to carry your books, i-pad or notebook or your knitting magazines!

The small size will hold a notebook or a child’s lunchbox; the larger version will hold an i-pad in the front pocket and letter/A4 documents or magazines in the back.

This project is a great way to use up your stash of felt-able yarns by making a multi-colour or striped satchel.

Both satchels are knitted on straight needles and the felted pieces are then sewn together by hand. You can highlight the stitching in a contrast colour to add interest or keep it plain.

The small satchel is made with Cascade 220 in shades Goldenrod, Primavera and Midnight Heather. The large satchel is knitted in Knitpicks Wool of the Andes Worsted in “Semolina”.
