Springtime Party

Where snow once piled now violets bloom and gray sky’s turned to blue.
The sun is warm upon my arms and winter’s cares are through.
So cast off mittens, hats and scarves, and crochet something new.
The season’s turned to spring and I would celebrate with you.

A party is outside the door with magic all around.
Birds and chipmunks in the garden making quite a sound,
Flowers everywhere you look, bright colors do abound.
So grab your hook and raid your stash for treasures to be found.

The birds are calling loudly as they flit from tree to tree,
They tweet and chirp their song in such a crazed cacophony!
So listen to their melody, then harmonize with me;
We’ll sing to celebrate the spring and friends on Ravelry.

In the flowers bees perform wild acrobatic feats,
Drunken with the simple joy of spring and nectar sweet
Birds are dancing on the lawn, hopping as they tweet
But we will dance our dance with hooks and yarn instead of feet.

I have planned the steps for you, and when you dance with me
Our Pas de Deux I know that you will dance it easily.
As you crochet the ground and edge I hope you will agree
That this will be a shawl you’ll love and post on Ravelry.

And when this season long is past and I am older yet
I’ll think back on the time we had and I will not forget
This party and our dancing and harmonious duet

So grab your hook and come and join our MAD Cap Fancy Fête!
