This is the first in a series of knit and crochet patterns for Barbie (and other fashion dolls) under the title Sum Wear. All of these patterns are based on simple mathematics.

It appears to be a pattern to make three dresses but is more about how Fibonacci numbers can be used in all kinds of knit and crochet items.

Many artists and craftspeople find the Fibonacci Sequence very attractive. It is closely linked to the Golden Mean (or Golden Ratio) and this is why it is thought to appeal to people.

The ways in which the sequence can be used are really quite limited but there are a few tricks to help you on your way.

Over time, there will be several other patterns and they will be linked together as an ebook. Keep checking back to see what else has been added.

This pattern is based on numbers, some of the others will be about making clothes using geometry.

All of the patterns will be using very basic yarns so can probably be made from leftovers.

I have written a long post about these patterns.
