The Fibre & Fellowship group at Lockport Mennonite Church was contacted by the Caring Christians about making prayer shawls/wraps for people who are going through some rough times. I started looking and dreaming and decided to write up some patterns. This is the second of my prayer patterns and is based on a waffle-like pattern. I designed it in two widths to make a scarf or a shawl. I just didn’t see the men in my church wanting a prayer shawl. The “hills and valleys” of this pattern remind me of the times when our path is not smooth and we need to rely on our faith to see us through. ~ Blessings to you and the recipient of this garment, Jen Cobb

Needles: Size 10 (I used a 24” circular, but you can use straights if you prefer)
Yarn: 400 yards for scarf (600 for shawl/wrap) of worsted weight
2 stitch markers (optional: I find it helpful to place a marker two stitches in from each end to mark where the waffle pattern is worked.)
1 needle for weaving in ends
Gauge: Not really important (as long as you are getting a nice drape to your garment).
Size: Scarf 10x60, Shawl/Wrap 15x60 approx.
