This is a 22-page pattern for one large and one small fichu, knitted with two 50g (total of 100g) skeins of yarn.

Large fichu: Approximately 79” in length and 20” down the center back when blocked. Weighs 66g.
Small fichu: Approximately 54” in length and 11” down the center back when blocked. Weighs 30g.

The pattern calls for two skeins of 1AZColorworks’s Laine Soie Cachemire Lace Yarn (Merino Wool/Silk/Cashmere 50/25/25, 450 yds/50 g/skein.

You’ll need US #5 (3.75 mm) needles - a 32” circular and a set of DPNs, or, a pair of 10” straights.

This edging pattern is not the kind of pattern to knit in public/when half paying attention (kinda like most shetland laces in that regard, requires one to keep line-by-line tab on the chart, definitely not intuitive/easily memorized). Not recommended for a beginner |the faint-hearted | the impatient and certainly not for those who cannot handle their personal frustations from not wanting to use the pattern (knitting from just the chart and choose to ignore the rest of the pattern). The edging can come across as intense to some (adapted from Barbara Abbey’s #60). Familiarity with “turning (Think flip front-to-back and vice versa. Yes, just that.)” a lace edging, or being open to learn another skill without cursing will be helpful. Have a chart keeper handy. Keep a cool head & patient+calm heart. If you appreciate a challenge, the BA’s pretty edging can become addictive.

4/22/2011 - There is now a technical support group for this pattern. Come visit us today. I would love to have you.
5/10/11 - Errata - There is no purl stitch in the charts. Please disregard the symbol for purl and its definition in the symbol legend on page 6. There are purl stitches still in the pattern, and the abbreviation ‘P’ to denote ‘purl’ continues to apply.
5/12/11 - Response to goldfishgeorge’s blog post here.Do make use of the ‘abbreviations’ and ‘hints’ section on page 1 and familiarize yourself with the chart and the symbol legend if you intend to bring nothing else but these with you on your knitting excursions. It is highly recommended that the knitter has access to the full pattern while working with the pattern and be open to refer back to it as and when is necessary.
