The Field of Poppies cowl is the third pattern in my Monet-inspired pattern series. Claude Monet painted the same poppy field that he viewed in the French countryside four different times. His poppy field paintings are rich in reds, oranges and greens, with blue skies. The Malabrigo colorway, Diana, reminds me of these rich colors. Of course, you should use your favorite yarn colors to create your own masterpiece!

The Field of Poppies cowl is the answer to triangular scarves that don’t stay in place or stay wrapped around your neck. This cowl has the styling of a triangular scarf, but the ease of a cowl. Or, for extra warmth you can wrap it around your neck and drop the pointed end through the neck opening.

The cowl is an easy project and uses simple stitch patterns. You can make an entire cowl with one 100 gram skein (of at least 400 yards) of fingering or sock weight yarn.
