The design and name for these pumpkins were inspired by the colors of fall and the wheat fields in Kansas. This pattern is perfect for showcasing hand dyed yarns in seasonal colors.

I wanted to design a pattern that could be adapted for multiple sizes and a variety of yarn weights.

The pattern is available in two versions. The “Plain Jane Pumpkin” is perfect for the beginner knitter requiring only the knowledge of the knit and purl stitch with an option to work flat or in the round. The “Wheat Fields Pumpkin” version can challenge the advanced knitter with the incorporation of working in stitches below to create a wheat field stitch patterned look.

This pattern is a fantastic option for using up small amounts of yarn leftover from other projects.

The pattern can also be customized in finishing for use with various stem options.
