These socks are named after a giant named Finn. It is said that a giant named Finn built Lund Cathedral. He had agreed to build the cathedral with the condition that the monk needed to figure out his name before it was finished, or the giant would take his heart and eyes. When the cathedral was nearly finished the monk had still not figured out the giant’s name, he wandered around trying to figure it out and he heard the giant’s wife singing a song to their children.
“Sleep little Sölve, my son, your father Finn, is building walls over there. Sleep little Gerda, my beautiful daughter, your father Finn, until the evening comes with the gift.”
The monk returned to the giant as he was setting in the last stone and told him his name. The giant became so angry that he threw the last stone away and rushed down the crypt. There he grabbed one of the pillars and tried to demolish the church he had just finished. But all the forces suddenly stopped and he was turned into stone. If you go down the crypt, Giant Finn is still standing there today, hugging his stone pillar.

Finn’s Socks are knit top down with a twisted rib cuff, traditional slip stitch heel flap and gusset. The design features 2 stitch twists with garter stitch panes representing the cathedral windows that Finn built.
