I grew up seeing orangey fields of Fire Wheel (also called Gaillardia) in the late Texas spring. These happy flowers were the inspiration for the Fire Wheel (page 83) in Crochet Bouquet.

The separate pieces of this flower are kind of floppy, but after you sew them together, the flower holds up very nicely.
