Fireglow socks are toasty, squishy, quick-knitting socks for the whole family!

These socks are nice and thick, meant to be worn as house socks or slippers, or of course to bed to relieve cold feet. Fireglow socks knit up lightning fast with chunky yarn; they’d make perfect gift knitting for everyone on your list, including you.

Knit in the round from the top down, with a cabled heel flap and gusset shaping, and cabled feet and toe shaping with grafting to close.

The instructions are given in charts for each size, including charted options for toe shaping to eliminate guesswork and make customizing the lengths of each sock easy.

The cables and ribbing gives these socks nice stretch, so the fit of each size is versatile and fits a range of feet by changing the lengths. The socks are meant to be worn with negative ease, and there are tips for choosing the right size in the pattern.

Yarn Info
I chose Estelle Chunky because of its nylon content, ready availability, and softness. Nylon is always a bonus when I want durable socks.

If you’re going to use a similar yarn, look for it to have a ball-band recommended gauge of 14 Sts = 4”/10 cm or 7wpi.

To knit up socks, we’re going to use smaller-than-recommended needles to get a nice, firm gauge of 18 Sts in 4 inches. I used 8 US / 5 mm, but you might need to adjust your needle size to get the correct gauge.

Knitting Small Circumference in the round
This pattern is not written for any type of needle technique and refers only to stitch markers, not needles. That way, you can use your preferred method -- Magic Loop, dpns, or 2 circulars.

Happy knitting!
