The two front panels of this vest are worked separately; the side gussets and back are worked as one piece. The front panels and side gussets are worked in garter stitch, with the public side of the gussets being reversed to show how versatile garter stitch can be when using hand-painted yarns. Because most actual tuxedo vests have a smooth satin back, the back is knitted in single-row stockinette stitch.
