This pattern is a variation of a variation. The original pattern is Turbines Cowl by Sandra D. Carter. Susie Gaughan made some modifications, including using 2 colors, and renamed the pattern Gramercy Cowl. Since I am a little OCD about opposite sections mirroring each other and wanted a wider cowl, I made a few more modifications to get the middle of the cowl to better mirror the outside sections and to add a repeat. Both Sandra D. Carter’s and Susie Gaughan’s patterns are available on Ravelry.

This pattern should be accessible for advanced beginners. If you have not knit yarn-overs before, there are several tips in the pattern.
