The perfect project for a very special skein of speckled or variegated yarn, the majority of this striking shawl is worked in garter stitch. At the end, you’ll work a knitted-on lace edging to the live stitches, creating beautiful sideways chevrons in a contrasting solid color.

Difficulty Intermediate

Finished Size 62.25” wide and 17” tall at center.

Yarn Three Irish Girls Adorn Luxe (85% merino, 15% nylon; 430 yd / 3.5 oz): mister snow (multicolored; MC) and grand canal (blue; CC), 1 skein each.

Needles Size 3 (3.25 mm): 24” circular. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Tapestry needle.

Gauge 18 sts and 40 rows = 4” in garter st.

Notes This shawl is worked from the top down. After the shawl body is completed, live stitches are left on the needle and bound off by working one stitch from the border together with one stitch from the body as the lace border is worked.
