I love the elegance of a lace shawl or wrap, but not the way I feel it restricts my movement. This piece was designed as an answer to that feeling. Part wrap, part stole, part vest, part shrug, First Friday provides graceful elegance and practical wearability.

The First Friday design begins with a provisional cast on. If you use scrap yarn to hold the live cast on stitches while you work make sure to choose something with a high cotton or other plant fiber content. If you don’t you might find the live stitches begin to felt closed, especially if you choose to work your piece from a single ply wool yarn like Malabrigo Lace.
