These fish scale mittens are knit in a simple stranded stockinette stitch with a ribbed cuff and an afterthought thumb. By carrying two yarns the body of the mitten is essentially two layers thick making it warm and slightly padded. Very comfortable to wear! Since each colour is only carried for one stitch it is easy to work and perfect for those new to colourwork. The afterthought thumb prevents any interruption in the fish scale pattern. The top of the mitten is rounded and involves no seaming or grafting. You will need two colours but you will likely be able to make several pairs from each skein.
