These airy fishnet ankle socks are perfect for summer weather! Constructed from the toe up, they feature a solid sole for comfort, and a gusset heel to make them fit properly at the arch. Most sizes will be able to make a pair with less than one full skein of sock yarn.

Stitches Used:
knit (K), purl (P), slip-slip-knit (ssk), knit 2 together (K2tog), purl 2 together (P2tog), yarn over (YO), wrap & turn (w&t), and any closed CO (such as Turkish CO)

Note that no instructions are given for the closed CO – use whichever one you prefer, or find a new one on the internet if you don’t have a favourite. I prefer FluffyKnitterDeb’s Turkish CO.

Materials:

  • fingering weight yarn, about 175 - 195 yards
  • size US 2 (2.75mm) circular needles or DPNs
  • stitch markers
