From Stitch 'N Bitch Crochet:  The Happy Hooker:

My closet is jam packed with handbags in all shapes, sizes and colors.  My favorites are the handmade knit and crocheted bags that I’ve scored at vintage stores.  In fact, this pattern was inspired by a crocheted bag that I found at a thrift shop.  I was heartbroken when I lost the bag after having it for only a week, so I challenged myself to re-create one just like it.  The pattern is perfect for folks who have a short attention span and prefer projects that provide almost instant gratification.  The bag works up quickly, and the simple one-piece design easily lends itself to all sorts of interesting variations.  If you have trouble finding a flower loom, try looking in a vintage shop or on eBay, or just crochet a flower as your decoration.
