This is one of five fancy stitches for mufflers as described in Nicoll’s book. The eight-row pattern repeat is easy to follow, stitches cast on are divisible by 9, and the right-angle triangles created with knits and purls are completely reversible, so the finished scarf looks good on both sides. Pattern can be scaled up or down with different yarns, needles, and number of stitches cast on (again, as long as it’s divisible by 9, you’re golden).
