A riot of zigzagging color spans the tops of these quick-to-make mitts. Fizzy Mitts are a fun way to learn how to make dip stitches, which are elongated loops drawn up from lower down in the knitted fabric.
Here’s a video on how to make these dip stitches:
These mitts are worked from the cuff upward. Increases shape the thumb gusset before stitches are put on hold for the thumb. The mitt continues in the round, ending with the dip stitches and garter stitch edge, before the thumb stitches are returned to the needles for the small thumb cuff.
Choosing your color combinations for these mitts is half the fun! Consider making matching mitts or perhaps switching up the colors for each hand. Experiment with variegated yarns for a multicolor pop.
Gauge will affect the size of the finished mitts. Instructions are included for fingering, DK, and worsted weight yarns. This is a written pattern.
