Any sock yarn will make a wonderful substitution.

I’m EXCITED to say that this design won 3rd place in the 2009 Knitting Pattern a Day Calendar - HOW COOL IS THAT?!!!! I am EXTREMELY honored!!!!

My designs are also available on individual blog posts (as seen below) where you can increase the size of the photos which may be useful in st. pattern definition or a very good look at the design. Or you may find pattern steps detailed; techniques explained; additional pattern notes and/or tips, etc., depending upon the pattern.

I was thinking of the fashions of the 1920’s and the “Flapper Girls” and some of their fashionable dresses with fringe which inspired the Flapper Socks. As you see, I’ve chosen to use mine for my Christmas socks, but, your imagination is your only limitation! I see Valentine Flapper Socks with hearts; St Patrick’s Flappers with 4 leaf clovers; Autumn Flappers with leaves sewn on the flaps….oh, I could go on and on! Oh, another favorite, a great teacher’s gift with school embellishments on the flaps! Like I said, I could go on and on, lol! Allow your imagination to run wild and let’s see Flapper Socks of all sorts!
Enjoy!
