This striped stockinette stitch tee, knit in sport weight yarn, is comprised of 2 pieces (front and back) joined at the shoulders with a 3-needle bind-off. It is knit to Craft Yarn Council Standards, shown in size medium, (made for 36 inch chest so it has 1 inch positive ease). Just make the corresponding size for a fit like ready-to-wear clothing.
The sleeves are easily knit (all directions included) from the shoulders downward, using short rows. Ribbing completes all edges. A faux-fluorescent partial stripe is flashed across the front and the same yarn creates the uniquely colorful back button placket.
Unable to find the fluorescent yarn in gauge, I created it by taking a 3-ply yarn and easily hand separated it to make a 2-ply yarn. Or use any sport weight yarn, as is. (Easy directions included.)
Precious leftover yarn from another project was used to complete the blue stripes.
Other yarn used: Malabrigo Yarn Arroyo (stripes):
280-360 yards
Plymouth Yarn Encore worsted (for
fluorescent accents):10-16 yards
