I prefer tea cosies with an open top and openings for the handle and spout, so that they don’t have to be removed to make or pour tea. I also, in a perfect world, like the tea cozy to provide a bit of a cushion for the base of the pot. So I designed and knit my “perfect” tea cozy, which only needs to be removed for cleaning, and is thick enough to keep tea really warm.

This pattern is designed to fit a teapot with a 17” circumference, 5.5” from base to edge of lid.

Please note: You may wish to switch to double-pointed needles for the decrease section on the base.
