Add a touch of feminine flair to a winter staple with these whimsical ruffled mittens. They’re a great way to play with colour and depending on your yarn choice can range from classically pretty to explosively colourful.

These mittens are worked from the tip down to the wrist, with the thumb done first and attached to the rest of the hand with a three needle bind off. (It isn’t difficult, but if this is an unfamiliar way of doing things it might help to read through the entire section where the thumb is joined before you work through it.)

Apple Tree Knits Plush Worsted Ditties; 100% superwash merino, 52 yds (48 m)/ 1 oz (28 g). 2 Ditties per color:
Color A: Jimi
Color B: Muddy Waters

Size US #2 (2.759 mm) and size US #3 (83 mm) DPN’s (or long circulars, if using the Magic Loop method), or size needed to obtain gauge
