This pattern was developed as a challenge using the yarn from an Oregon community college vet tech training flock to help raise funds to support the training of future vet techs. All of the proceeds from the sale of the pattern will be donated for the support of the flock, so please gift the pattern to your friends!

The cap starts with 3 inches of ribbing, which you can increase or decrease depending on personal choice. It then goes into a Saxony Braid and a cable panel pattern up the sides, with the Saxony Braid being repeated three times while working the cable panel chart. The top is a simple round decrease pattern and you can add a pompom, or a length of i-cord to finish off the top if desired.

A crisply spun, 100% wool yarn gives the best results, and it’s even more yummy if the yarn is either handspun or from a local flock. Enjoy, and if you find any errors, please let me know so I may fix them!

My model is Betsy - Lizzibet here on Ravelry and I thank her for her sunny smile!
