Natural shade variations through hand-dyed yarn give the stranded colourwork in this vintage style hat and gloves set a feeling of being softly aged and faded. The hat can be blocked over a plate or similar to give a more traditional shape or left with a softer silhouette, while the gloves have old-school generous length over the wrists to keep the drafts at bay.

Making the set of hat and gloves took most of the main colour skein, but probably only about a third of the other two colours.
