I made a cowl like this forever ago in red, navy, and pink, and it’s been my favorite ever since. I had to make another. This cowl was inspired by fields of florals from far away. It is knit with two strands held together throughout. The colors are made from pairing different colored strands together.

I highly recommend knitting a gauge swatch, if not for the correct number of stitches per inch, for the testing of color combinations. I made a small swatch to make sure I liked each color paired with each other color. To make this swatch:

  1. With one strand COLOR A and one strand COLOR C, cast on 12. Work in seed stitch for 2”.
  2. Cut only COLOR C and join one strand COLOR B. Work in seed stitch for 2”.
  3. Cut only COLOR A and join one strand COLOR C. Work in seed stitch for 2”. 4.Cut COLOR B and join one strand COLOR D. Work in seed stitch for 2”.
  4. Cut COLOR C and join one strand of COLOR A. Work in seed stitch for 2”.
  5. Cut COLOR A and join one strand of COLOR B. Work in seed stitch for 2”. Bind of all stitches.
