About the Design
This adorable spring purse is a quick knit and crochet project!

The flower embellishment and picot mesh strap are crocheted in Patons Soy Wool Stripes, a wool and bamboo blend yarn. The long color lengths within this striping yarn create a subtle movement from one color to the next.

The purse body is knit in a basket weave stitch pattern in a solid color to either contrast or coordinate with one of the colors in the striped yarn.

Beaverslide Dry Goods 2-ply, 90% wool / 10% kid mohair, approx. 230 yds / 4 oz hank: 1 hank Whitetail Fawn (MC)

Sample 2: Peace Fleece, 70% Russian and American wool / 30% mohair, approx 200 yds / 4 oz hank: 1 hank Georgia Rose (MC)

Both Samples: Patons Soy Wool Stripes, 70% wool / 30% soy silk, approx. 110 yds / 80 gr skein: 1 skein #70530 Natural Geranium (CC) per purse

Gauge: 19-20 sts and 28 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in St st, and 18-19 sts and 32 rows = 4″ over stitch pattern.

To save time, take time to check gauge.

Note: MC gauge is tighter than usual, for this weight yarn, to make a sturdier purse fabric. The Peace Fleece makes a slightly larger bag.
