Take me there!

Don’t you just love the summer music season? Festivals around the country with artists from decades before plus new artists you didn’t know you were a fan of…. The summer music festivals often offer unique fashion, but we can always count on a bohemian vibe. The bohemian vibe was a huge inspiration to this latest design, Flower Mandala Circle Poncho Pattern.

The Flower Mandala Circle Poncho is a style for all! With a short front, you can show off your favorite spring dress or tank, and amaze everyone as you pass by to show off the beautiful open flower design on the back.

Although the poncho says, “Summer festivals here I come,” it is also great as a layering piece for the fall with a long-sleeve top when it’s chilly in the morning and at sunset.

Level: Intermediate

Materials:  Fibranatura Naturalina Cotton Linen Blend is now discontinued, but Fibranatura Good Earth is a good substitute of cotton and linen blend. This design used 3 skeins each, Cream and Taupe, or 510 yards in two colors of your choice

Hook: size 5.5mm (I/9), or any size that will obtain gauge

Gauge: 15 dc x 6 rows = 4” x 4”

Finished dimensions: back length 35”, front length 12.25”, approx. 44” diameter when flat

  • It is helpful to make a gauge swatch of 20 dc and 10 rows to accurately check your gauge with the hook listed. If your swatch of 15 dc and 6 rows is less than 4 inches, then it is suggested to increase the hook size. If your swatch of 15 dc and 6 rows is more than 4 inches, then it is suggested to decrease the hook size.

  • If you chain tightly, it will help to start with a larger hook. Tight chaining will make it harder to work into the chains, and may cause rippling as your poncho progresses.
