Here is a petite basket with a flower motif that is attractive and fun to make. It measures about 6.5” in diameter across the bottom and about 2” high. Three color schemes are provided or have fun and create your own color palette. Match your home décor, or make a variety in fun colors to give as gifts for Christmas, Hanukah, Easter, Birthdays, Mothers’ Day, Showers, and so many other occasions.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate. There are some stitches a beginner might not have mastered yet, but there are enough detailed photos so that anyone with some experience should be able to complete the project. The fun is in the challenge and I’m always happy to answer any questions, as well – just message me on whatever site you purchased the pattern!

Materials:

Hook: G Hook (4.25 MM)

Note on gauge and hook size: Gauge is not that important for this project. Depending on how you crochet and the yarn you use, you may want to adjust your hook size. My gauge was about 3 stitches and 2 rows of half double crochet equal about 1”. Since you are crocheting in the round, each 2 rows of half double crochet add about 2” to the diameter, however, various stitches are used and single crochet rows add less width. The flower motif in the center measures about 4” in diameter.

Yarn: I used Red Heart Super Saver. You can use any type of worsted weight yarn, including cotton, but I would probably avoid very soft yarns as you don’t want your basket to be droopy. You don’t need a tremendous amount of yarn, so it’s a great stash buster project!

Here are approximate amounts and the colors used in the main basket shown:
